Full Dress Rehearsal on 2 September, Wednesday

Dear Parents,

Thank you so much for your kind co-operation and
understanding, such that we were able to carry out
the Rehearsal last Friday on 28 August. =)

For the Rehearsal on this Wednesday, 2 September,
it will be from 11.20am to 5.30pm.

Please take note of the following:

1) We will bring the Children to Nanyang Girls' High at
11.20am, and dismiss them at NYGH at 5.30pm after
the rehearsal.

2) Some Parents have indicated that they will pick up
their Children directly from NYGH, some prefer to let
them stay in Learning Bliss till latest 7pm, and the
Parents will pick them up after work.

Both arrangements are fine. Do rest assured we will
take care of each and every request. =)

3) This Wednesday, 2 Sept, the Children will only have
lessons from 7.45am to 10.50am. In other words, they
will only need to bring their English and Chinese books.

4) Please let your Child bring
a small bag, water-bottle, some snacks, and also their
Rock & Roll Costumes, as it is a Full-Dress Rehearsal.

NO make-up is needed(thank God!), though the gals please
do remember to bring your ribbons on Wednesday ya! =)

The More We Get Together, The Merrier We Will Be! =)

Note to Parents regarding Rehearsal on 28 August 2009

Dear Parent,

Greetings!

Nanyang Glitters Rehearsal at NYGH will commence
this coming Friday, 28 August 2009. Please kindly take
note that all pupils will leave NYPS at 11.30am sharp.

If your child is unable to come for the rehearsal due to
good reasons, please note that you can fetch your child
from school at 11am. Due to the large number of buses in
the school compound, please kindly note that no cars are
allowed to enter the school premises during this time. If
you are unable to fetch your child at 11am, please pick
them up from the meeting point at 1.20pm. From 11am
to 1.20pm, the children will be taken care of by teachers
and parent volunteers in the school library.

All pupils will be provided with free sandwiches and
mineral water at NYGH. However, it is advisable that your
child brings along some snacks too. Thank you for your
support for this event and we look forward to a memorable
experience with your child.

Nanyang Glitters Rehearsal - 28 August 2009

Dear Parents,

A Notification Letter has been given out to the Children today.
Please sign the letter and let your Child bring it back to school
tomorrrow.

For the Rehearsal on this Friday, 28 August, it will be from 11am
to 4pm. Please take note of the following:

1) We will bring the Children to Nanyang Girls' High at 11am,
and bring them back to Nanyang Primary School by 4pm after
the rehearsal. Children will be dismissed from NYPS at 4pm.

2) Please bring a small bag, as lessons will only be from 7.45am
to 10.50am. Usual recess will be as per normal at 9.20-9.50am.

3) Please come to school in PE attire. NO Rock & Roll costumes
needed as 28 August is not the Full-Dress rehearsal.

4) Please bring water-bottle and some snacks. A simple sandwich
lunch will be provided when we are at NYGH, but just in case the
Children are hungry in the late afternoon.

Dismissal at 1pm Tomorrow cum News on "The More We Get Together"! =)

Dear Parents,

Please note that tomorrow, 19 August, our school will
be dismissed at 1pm for all levels, as tomorrow is our
Teachers' Day Lunch in the School Hall, presented to
us by our Parents-Teachers' Association. =)

One more thing to note, as the next "The More We Get
Together" falls on 28 August, which is our 2nd Nanyang
Glitters rehearsal, we have to cancel it, regretfully...

However, we still welcome Parents to join in for the next
"The More We Get Together" on 25 September, Friday.

You have put up a really splendid performance tonight!
My heart is full of pride for all of you! Well done! =)

And many thanks go out to all our very supportive Parents
too! The performance cannot be done without the help and
giving of time and effort on your part. THANK YOU!! =)

Super Special Thanks go out to our very Creative & Commited
Choreographer, Mrs Au, or the Children know best as Auntie
Lydia. Thank you so much for designing such a wonderful and
exciting Rock & Roll dance for the Children and powering in
so much time and energy into it! It really makes the Children
shine! =)

And also a Big Big Thank You to our very Deligent and Dedicated
Auntie Michelle, who taught along-side Auntie Lydia every session
of the dance practice, rain or shine! Devoted and Dutiful, you
have been a quiet and Dependable supporter behind our every move!

3 Cheers for both of You!! Really Really Appreciated!! Yeah!! =)

Nanyang Glitters Rehearsal Dates

Dear Parents,

Below are the dates for the Nanyang Glitters Rehearsals:

13/8/09 Thursday afternoon at Nanyang Primary School
from 2-4pm

28/8 Friday afternoon at NYGH Auditorium
from 2.30-5pm

2/9 Wednesday afternoon (full dress rehearsal)
at NYGH auditorium
from 2.30-5pm

Pupils please come in your PE Attire and bring along your
water-bottles and snacks. Notification forms have been
given out today. Please hand it in to me tomorrow. =)

National Day Celebration on 7 August ~ !! =)

Dear Children,

National Day is round the corner!! =)
We will be celebrating our Nation's 44th Birthday
this Friday at NYPS.

On this Friday upon arrival, please gather at the
Basketball court for Morning Assembly.

Do come in RED top too:
1) for boys, please wear a red t-shirt and your school
uniform khaki shorts
2) for girls, please wear a red t-shirt and your school
uniform white skirt

Bring along a small bag, get ready your:
1) colour pens
2) glue, stapler, sticky tape
We will be making a little craft in class to join in the
celebration!! =)

School will be dismissed at 10am on 7 August 2009
after the Celebration.

　　如果你问我受华文教育者有什么独特精神？我想我会用
“感恩心重，凝聚力强”八个字来概括。
　　爱国爱校，尊师重教，是中华民族永传的美德。在华文里，
教育我们的学校称为母校。自古以来，学校与母亲并列，受到
尊敬与关怀。
　　最近阅读马六甲培风校友会讯，会讯的名称曰《思源》，
六月份的会讯还加上《感恩号》三个字。饮水思源，知恩、
感恩和报恩这些很传统的华族文化思想沉浸在整份刊物里，
令人读了感动。
　　确实，幼苗长成参天大树，应当感谢园丁的辛勤浇灌。
学校使无知少年长成有识学子，她指引着学子踏上人生征程，
我们怎能不感恩母校的阳光雨泽？
　　培风中学是马六甲州唯一的独立华文中学，没有政府的资助。
自1962年以来，学校需要自力更生，一切都需要自供自足。要承
担起每年不敷三百余万令吉的经费，是非常艰辛的事。但教育是
一项生命工程。为了维护母语教育，发扬中华文化，一群热爱母
语教育的社会人士，不惜用钢铁般的意志，挑起这千斤重担。
他们不屈不挠，无怨无悔，每年都为筹措学校经费奔走四方。
　　会讯中的《铁肩挑华教》系列，报道好几则令人动容的事情。
连任校友会主席兼企业家史进福，在国外治病期间，心里最牵挂
的是母校的发展。校友会发动全球培风校友爱校基金，筹措600多
万令吉，增建5层新校舍思源楼，购买校地，提升运动场，增添学
校硬件软件，把校园现代化。
　　“政府不支持，华社要支持”是他们办学的信念，“若无华教，
下一代怎么办？”是他们永远的顾虑。因此，不论在校内校外，不
论是老校友年轻校友甚至非校友，都积极投入民族教育的神圣工作
中，有钱出钱，有力出力，群策群力。有些沿家挨户去募捐，有些
不论婚丧喜庆都不忘献金，有儿子继承父亲的热忱参与筹款工作，
有父子俩齐齐出动去筹钱。总之，社会各阶层人士从三五令吉到数
以百万的捐献，充分体现人们对母语教育的热爱和坚持。
　　反观在岛国办教育的我们，是何其幸运！政府每年投入数以亿
计的经费，给我们最先进的设施，大费周章进行革新以期与时并进，
重金培养人才留住人才。但我们都把这一切赐与视为理所当然。循
循善诱，谆谆教诲，母校在我们心底会留下印记吗？当我们扬起知
识的风帆，开始未来的航程时，我们何曾以赤诚之心去感恩母校？
期望回馈，期望以铁肩挑重担，恐怕只是天方夜谭。
